Data controls
Your nowish data
Here is what you can see or change today, what account deletion covers, and which privacy controls are still unfinished in the closed beta.
Current status
- View current data: available in the app for your shared groups, members, tasks, schedule, assignments, blocks, and mutes.
- Correct task data: available according to your group role; group creators and administrators have broader editing controls.
- Delete the account: available in the app and through the verified web process.
- Portable account export: not implemented.
- Verified access or correction request: no self-service tool; handled manually by email via privacy@nowish.ca.
What you can view in the app
Once signed in and unlocked, nowish shows the account display name, your groups and their members, group roles, tasks and steps, scheduling and assignment settings, and the current plate and queue. It also provides lists for blocked members and group-level bans when your role permits. Some historical and operational records—such as login sessions, notification delivery records, report evidence, moderation actions, and feedback submissions—do not have a user-facing viewer.
What you can change or remove
Available app controls let an authorized user rename or remove groups and tasks, change schedules and assignment policies, leave a shared group, mute content, manage members according to role, block another member’s authored content, and submit reports. These actions affect the live service; they are not a full export or a request to erase every record associated with the account.
The current app does not provide a screen to change the account email. It also does not yet provide a complete self-service correction tool for every account or moderation record.
Account deletion
Account deletion is a separate, irreversible operation. It disables the original account identity and credentials, removes personal credentials and preferences, deletes solo groups, and removes your membership and key access from shared groups. Shared group content and limited privacy-redacted, pseudonymous safety records may remain. Read the complete description before proceeding at nowish.ca/deleteme.
Export is not ready
There is no button or verified web workflow that produces a portable copy of all account data. The in-app beta feedback tool can notify the operator of a concern, but it is not an authenticated data-access/export process and should not be represented as one. A real request and identity-verification workflow must be added before nowish promises data export or formal access requests.
Why a server-only export needs care
The server normally holds encrypted group, task, and step text. A useful export needs cooperation from an unlocked client or a carefully designed recovery flow; simply dumping the server database would produce ciphertext and expose unrelated internal security fields. That design work is unfinished.
Privacy questions
The Privacy Policy lists the data nowish handles and the current retention gaps. Privacy questions and requests can be emailed to privacy@nowish.ca; a self-service verified inquiry form is not built yet, so requests are handled manually with reasonable identity verification before any account data is discussed or changed. Do not reply to noreply@nowish.ca; it sends automated account messages only.
